Knoppix - run Linux on your Windows machine

| | Comments (0)

Knoppix

Knoppix is a Linux distribution which you can directly run from your Windows machine. You just insert the CD and restart the computer. And presto, you have Linux running!

I think this is very useful if you want to run Linux occasionally but do not want to install both Linux and Windows on your machine. Thanks to Dr. Jay Pfaffman for the information about Knoppix.

I am writing this entry using Mozilla on Knoppix on my Windows machine.

The system currently shows up as:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040413 Debian/1.6-5

If I were using IE on Windows Xp, it would show up as:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)

Knoppix is absolutely great!
