Hibernate shortcut in Windows Xp

Create a shorcut (Right click on Desktop > New > Shorcut) and point it to:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Hibernate
Tip: If you do not like the default icon, you can change it by
– right clicking on the icon
– choose “Properties”
– click “Change Icon”
– put the following value in the “Look for icons in this file” field:
%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll
– click “Ok”
– choose desired icon
– click “Apply”

  1. I tried using this shortcut in conjunction with windows XP scheduled tasks using \”wake the computer to perform task\” option but the computer doesn\’t wake!! I tried it again using the power options and the scheduled task does start after waking the computer. I tested this inconsistancy a few times with same results. Strange.
